Karmic theory has been one of my most favorite concepts. The more you discover, deeper are the questions you ask yourself, crazy are the connections you create & heavier are the dots you connect.
“Karma” has been a template reply / feedback anyone shoots at us for anything happening against our wish ( typically called ‘wrong’ ) ( Because, only when something goes wrong, do we ask “Why me”? )
Another metaphor used for Karma is “Slow Mirror”. Your Image in the mirror has no mind of its own / feelings of its own. It only knows to repeat your actions after you.
The importance of word “SLOW” is to highlight that the mirror image might follow its own time zone. It need not exactly overlap with your actions in front of the mirror.
What you do is independent of you.
This quote sounds crazy, but if you’re a believer of karma, the further read is definitely going to be an interesting read for you…
Case 1 : Anmol applies sudden breaks in his car and saves the life of a Dog.
Human Eye View : Anmol is such a savior, he put his life at risk to save a dog.
Karmic View : Dog had done a favor to some creation in his earlier births & Anmol just returned the favor to tally the accounts.
Case 2 : Dr. Mahaveer who happens to be a cardiologist saves Arvind’s life who got a cardiac arrest in the middle of a flight.
Human Eye View : Dr. Mahaveer is such a life saver to have saved Arvind’s life
Karmic View : Arvind’s good deeds of previous births were at a scale where he could find help of Cardiologist even when he was in a flight.
Case 3 : Mr. A slaps Mr. B for hitting his car from the back.
Human Eye View : Mr. A is inhuman, who slaps for just a scratch.
Karmic View : Mr. B had been really unjust in punishing someone in his previous births and had to take a slap for a small mistake to settle the accounts.
Case 1 & 2 are with respect to Karmic Investments & Case 3 is with respect to Karmic Debts.
Everything, literally EVERYTHING that appears normal to human eye is exactly opposite to karmic view.
In Karma, everything that happens to us is because of us.
They are a result of your feelings / deeds of previous births & never because of anything or anyone.
Had it not been Anmol, someone else would have saved the dog anyway.
Had it not been Dr. Mahaveer, someone else would have helped Arvind survive.
Had it not been Mr. A, someone else would have unjustly punished Mr. B.
Summing up the cases, the karma comes back to us anyhow, its a perfect example of Boomerang.
Having said this,
How could we stop Karma coming back to us? or
Can we even stop the Karma tallying accounts ?
Karma is the best Chartered Accountant, universe has hired to keep our accounts.
We cannot really stop the boomerang, the maximum we could do is be aware that it is a boomerang and save ourselves from the emotional drama we go through.
They say, “It pains less” when you know that the other person has not hurt you intentionally.
Like light reaches faster than sound, Intentions hurt you before the actions do.
Essentially, once we realize that someone has hurt us without any intention of actually hurting us, it will pain less.
Only way to crack the code of Karmic Theory is Awareness / जागरूकता
Awareness is a product of being stable & lettings things happen anyway. Its about being firm in self.
The above picture depicts that firmness of the wooden blocks reduce the effect of falling wooden blocks (karma) in long run.
All this sounds very saintly. Humans we are, we need logic for everything to be accepted.
The largest chunk of my subscribers are from finance background and below is the take of why we should be grateful for anything wrong happening to us from a finance perspective.
Compound Interest is the 8th Wonder in the World
We all know the power of compounding.
Lets say we have accumulated both
Karmic Investments ( Good deeds of past )
Karmic Debts ( Bad deeds of past )
Its a basic understanding of Compounding that we all will want to pay off the debts as soon as possible & postpone our returns on the investments as long as possible
So, technically - anything bad happening to us now is like paying off the debts of the past & anything good happening to us now is like withdrawing the karmic investments of the past with returns.
With this analogy, we probably understand how important it is to pay off debts as early as possible.
Worried about your hypertension at the age of 40?
Now imagine hypertension at the age of 65.
If it anyway had to happen, we all would prefer the age “40” over 65 because the capability of our body is better at 40 than at 65.
The more we realize we are just paying off the debts, the subtler will be our thoughts & we would never envy the person who we “think” is the reason for our hurt.
What is your experience of Karma?
Thanks for reading through,
Manish
Great one
